In general, algae products have a shelf life of 3 years and should be consumed within 12 months after opening. We have packages that can be resealed and contain a valve that prevents the product from oxidizing, which makes our products last longer than some other products on the market.

History

The oldest known sources of Spirulina use date back to the ancient Aztec realm in Mexico, where it was harvested from lakes and used as a food source. "tecuitlatl," which likely meant Spirulina, was dried and processed into flat cakes that were eaten as food or added to drinks. It was also used by the Kanembu tribe in Lake Chad in Africa.

Algae naturally grow in alkaline lakes and warm tropical waters. Nowadays, algae are commercially cultivated in special ponds and tanks around the world.

The modern scientific interest in seaweed began in the 1960s and 1970s, when NASA started to study seaweed as a potential food for astronauts because of its nutritional value and high protein content.

Yes, seaweed is generally safe for consumption. It is a natural and nourishing food source. However, it is advised to always consult a healthcare provider before making significant changes to your diet, especially if you have existing health issues.

Algae are generally well tolerated. However, a very small number of people may experience mild side effects, such as digestive discomfort. It is advisable to start with a small amount and monitor your body's response. Consult a healthcare provider if you notice any unusual reactions.

Shipping and Delivery

We work with an automated system, so we can no longer cancel or change paid orders. If you have changed your mind about your order, you can refuse the package at the door, after which your order will be returned to us.

Of course, it is also possible to exchange or return your received order within 14 days, provided the product is unopened and undamaged. The confirmation email serves as the return receipt, so do not forget to include it with the package.

It is also possible to return an order by post. Please ask our customer service for the return address.

When the return package is received and the reason for the return is unclear, we will contact you so you can confirm the return.

It usually takes 3 to 5 working days before you can expect the amount. If you chose PayPal, it may take up to 15 working days before the amount is visible. Any return costs are at your own expense.

If a parcel is refused, or not collected at a “Pakjegemak” point, the full purchase amount will be refunded minus €5 return costs (€6 return costs abroad)

Return

The cost of a return shipment within the Netherlands is €6.00. The cost for a return shipment from other EU countries is €7.00.

The following exceptions are not subject to return costs*:

You have received a different product than you ordered

The product you ordered was received damaged

You must contact customer service for an exception to the return shipment.

If you do not have a printer yourself, you can choose to return your package with DHL. In this case you do not need a printer.

Invoice

Yes, send our customer service an email with a request for a VAT invoice. You will then receive the invoice within a few working days in your email.

If your company or organization is a customer with us, you will by default receive a VAT invoice by email.
