The combination of beans, herbs, and spirulina provides a unique twist — ideal for a light lunch or a filling meal.
What do you need?
For 4 small burgers:
-
2.5 grams spirulina powder
-
200 grams white or cannellini beans (drained)
-
1 egg (or use a chia egg for the vegan version)
-
1 cm fresh ginger
-
2 cloves garlic
-
1 tablespoon soy sauce
-
½ teaspoon chili flakes
-
1 teaspoon miso paste
-
1 tablespoon chia seeds
-
3 tablespoons breadcrumbs
-
½ tablespoon coconut oil
-
And of course: 4 small multigrain rolls
This is how you make it:
-
Mix the base: Put the beans, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, miso, and chili flakes in a food processor. Grind into a coarse puree.
-
Add the binder: Mix the egg (or chia egg), breadcrumbs, chia seeds, and spirulina into the mixture. Knead until a firm mass forms.
-
Shape the burgers: Use your hands to make four small burgers. If the mixture is too wet, add a little extra breadcrumbs.
-
Fry until golden brown: Heat the coconut oil in a pan and fry the burgers on both sides until golden brown in a few minutes.
-
Serve with flair: Place the burgers on the rolls and add your favorite toppings — think slices of avocado, lettuce, cucumber, or a fresh yogurt sauce.
